This really is Time Well Spent
Today, I will be constructively spending my time in a well spent manner at Time Well Spent.
I'm sharing my shirt dresses which you can find here, here, and here. Let me just tell you that Suze is seriously one of the nicest bloggers I've met. She's so sweet and easy to work with! Her blog is just straight up adorable. She's a great photographer so you don't have to worry about blurry images on her blog. Plus, she's got two kiddos who sneak their adorable little selves into most posts. They're seriously too cute. Like way to cute.
Anyway, go check me out at Time Well Spent!

A Little This and a Little That
Today has been pretty great so far. I got back from my month long vacation to Mississippi this afternoon. Last night we had to find a hotel in the middle of no where because we had three screaming kids. Like bawling. Anyway, we were only 3 hours from home but everyone was way to tired. We went and surprised the kid's grandma at her office and she just about cried. It was too sweet. Then we went and surprised my mom at her office and went out to lunch. I was dropped off at a home I barely know. My dog seems a lot bigger and furrier.
My mom decided to completely rearrange my living room/ dining room. That means every single piece of furniture found a new home and she even went so far as to change around all the pictures and even a tapestry. I liked things the way they were. Some things go... but others... uh yuck. She put a duck painting in her bedroom and moved the one that perfectly matched her bedspread into our living room. Why? I have no idea.
Anyway, I came home to several packages just waiting to be torn open!
I recently won a bottle cap necklace from Bling is My Thing. Such cute packaging!
Seriously, this picture does NOT do the necklace justice. I LOVE it. I've been wearing it along with another necklace I already had on around the house. I will only wear one in public, don't worry.
I also got all these gluten free goodies from Betty Crocker. It seriously included all my favorite things. Waffles, chocolate cake, and chocolate chip cookies. If you didn't notice, I like chocolate. A lot.
I found these Patriotic Fireworks from I heart naptime. I don't get how she had the patience to make a ton. I seriously was going mad by the time I was done. I love it though.
A little fairy had left some cookie dough in the fridge and I whipped them up. Yum yum, yum!
Please excuse the crappy photos. I seriously get annoyed when blogs have blurry photos. Urg. I lost my lovely DSLR camera on the plane and am very pleased (UH NOT) to say the airline has not been helpful whatsoever in finding it. I'm stuck with my dad's little freebie Cannon PowerShot A430. Truely, it's a piece of junk. You have to play with all sorts of buttons just to get a good picture.

She even included a little Thank You note with a sweet handwritten message! Can't get better than that.

I'll be sharing tutorials from around blogland, attempting them, and possibly sharing my own tutorials. I'm currently trying to find some guest posters if anyone would like to volunteer :)
Maybe I'll drop some hints closer to it, but for now, this is all you get.

Sweet Saturdays
You can either take this post one of two ways. You can groan and say "Two food posts in one week?" or you can run to the pantry, make sure you have all the ingredients and then get baking! I personally suggest the second option. My mouth is watering and despite the fact I just had breakfast, my stomach is grumbling.
Now onward with the food post! Since these are "sweet" saturdays, how about some sweet recipes?
Since the 4th of July is next weekend, how about some red, white, and blue themed desserts?
You don't get a say in the matter.

This looks so cool! I love jello!
- Flag Cake from Food Network
I don't really think you have to use a trifle pan for this. I'm thinking it would be fine in just about any container or pan. Still looks delicious and the directions are super simple!
I think you could just go simple and make a red velvet cake, use vanilla frosting, and top it with strawberries or raspberries, and blueberries and cool whip. I think I might have to do just that. I seriously am having a baking urge!
Tomorrow morning, bright and early, I get to enjoy a 17 hour car ride from Mississippi to Michigan with a 3 year old, 2 year old, and a 2 month old and stops every 2 hours so the baby can nurse. This car-ride is looking longer....and longer... and longer... oh boy. I'll be happy to get home.

Friday Top Five
I decided I need to start something fun on my blog. So each Friday, I'll post five of my favorite posts from around blog land. And now, in no particular order, my Friday Top Five:
1. Cereal Specimen Chart from Simple Simon and Co.
Isn't it so cute? She also made a bunch of other versions that you can find here. I really like this. I also love the tool one she made! I think I might have to make it for my dad for his birthday.
2. Thin Mint Birthday Cake from Tidy Mom
I'm just drooling! This has some of my favorite things- chocolate and mint. YUM! She's got some cute pictures of the birthday girl, too :)
Isn't this cute? I LOVE it. I've been looking to make myself a paper bag skirt like this so I'm definitely going to have to try this!
4. Fiesta Skirt from Miss Lovie
This is so cute and colorful. I think she did a great job. I wish I had some brightly patterned fabric to do something similar!
5. Frame Earring Holder from O-Alouette.
So cute! I really need something like this. I always lose my earrings. This would be perfect!
Feel free to grab my button from the sidebar if you were featured. Have a great weekend everybody :)

Shirt Dress Reveal
Okay, so this post is kind of late. Three weeks ago I gave the Shirt Dresses I made to the little girls I'm staying with. One week ago I took pictures of them. Last night we finally got the pictures onto the computer. Phew. Took us long enough! And here they are:
As you see, they proceeded to let their princesses go for a swim. They then followed them into the pool. Half soaked, they finally stripped their dressed off and went for a swim which is where I stopped taking pictures.
Just a tip, remember that shoulders are often wider than hips. That mean you'll either need to make the waist band bigger and add elastic or have them step into the dress. Thankfully the dresses fit with a little tugging over the younger ones diaper.
You can find a tutorial for this dress at MADE.
Now if you even just KNOW a little girl, make them a dress! They're SO simple especially with the above tutorial. It even gets easier the more you make.
I'm going to finish up before my laptop dies.
Happy dressmaking :)

4th of July Favorites
Getting sick of these favorites posts? Don't worry. As soon as I get home, I'll go bury myself under a pile of projects and blog about them all...hopefully. I've got about 15 different things bookmarked. They consist of 3 bags, 2 skirts, 6 desserts containing chocolate, a birthday gift idea, and 3 non chocolate recipes. I clearly have my priorities straight here. Chocolate. Purses. Clothes. Makes sense.
And now, in no particular order, my 4th of July favorites!
1) Tattooed Photo Frame from Flamingo Toes
And now, in no particular order, my 4th of July favorites!
1) Tattooed Photo Frame from Flamingo Toes
Pretty cool and didn't even use a silhouette!
Gotta have food in here somewhere don't we? YUM.
3) Star Lantern Tutorial from Craft Goodies
So cool! Can't believe she made this!
4) Old Book Flag from Thrifty Decorating
This is actually an old book! I love the cursive writing on it :)
5) 4th of July Punch Art from J&M's Eye Candy
So neat! I think this would be cool for all the holidays and seasons.
I swear this is my last favorites post...until Friday. I'm starting two new series this week called "Friday Top Five" and "Sweet Saturdays." Really hoping I'll be able to keep up and post each week. Thank God for being able to schedule posts!
