Man injured in Great Ocean Road collision

A man has suffered suspected spinal injuries in a collision on the Great Ocean Road this morning, which forced the closure of part of the popular tourism destination.
A Rural Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the man, aged in his 30s, also suffered a suspected pelvic injury when his car collided with a truck between Anglesea and Aireys Inlet about 9.20am.
The man was trapped for about an hour before emergency workers freed him, the spokesman said.
He was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
The driver of the truck escaped injury.
Police said one of the north-bound lanes was closed for about 90 minutes.
